Best H&M winter pieces to wear to work: Major retailer releases ultimate cold weather uniform

We’ve been struggling to get dressed each morning for work since the cold snap reigned down on Sydney.

It’s a constant battle between trying to look stylish but covering up as best we can to prevent frostbite on the commute from home into the office.

But H&M has released its latest range of winter essentials and among the products were a large number that suited the needs of both Best Picks editors — one of whom is pregnant.

Matilda was immediately drawn to the $139 Aviator Jacket which can be worn over jeans or even a long denim skirt, with the teddy lining acting as a makeshift scarf.

A word of warning that the teddy lining does have a tendency to shed but for the price point it’s only a small bugbear to look like you’re wearing a premium leather jacket.

She paired it with the $49.99 Denim Pencil Skirt, which was faultless, and could easily be matched with a knitted jumper and trenchcoat like H&M’s $99.99 Double Breasted Twill Trench Coat.

Sophie wanted to feel both comfortable and cool in her winter pieces as she entered the third trimester of her pregnancy so elasticated waistbands were essential.

The Belted Shirt Dress ($89.99) can be adjusted to suit any climate and need with multiple buttons down the front and an adjustable belt.

Pair the dress with a woollen coat and black boots for a seamless work-appropriate option.

If opting for a co-ordinate, Sophie found herself reaching time and time again for the $44.99 Rib Knit Skirt and matching $44.99 Rib Knit Polo Sweater which was perfectly cosy and elegant while catering for her growing bump.
