The mum behind a revolutionary drying powder that sets fake tan in seconds has launched a new refillable self-tan range that is perfect for summer.
Former spray tan artist Fiona Dunne, 36, from Perth, hit the jackpot with her GlowDry Australia award-winning fake tan drying powder when she launched it in 2018.
Now, Fiona has founded GlowBronze — which is a skincare-enriched refillable self-tan mousse that promises to deliver a 99.4 per cent naturla hydrated longer-lasting self tan without any of the alcohol or nasties that typically comes in fake tan formulas.

Featuring hyaluronic acid as well as antioxidants like kakadu plum and green tea, the tan aims to brighten and firm the skin, while also giving a natural-looking glowy colour, no matter your skin tone.
You can darken it as much as you like, by either rinsing off the tan within two hours for a light glow or leaving it on for six hours for a darker look.
Despite being relatively new to market, the tan has also already won awards — including Best Vegan Tan 2023 at the Global Green Beauty Awards 2023.
The brand has also won the coveted award of Most Innovative Self Tanning Brand 2023 at the APAC Insider Australian Made Awards.
Reviews online for GlowDry Australia’s GlowBronze are overwhelmingly positive, where there is a raft of five-star ratings.
“I’ve never liked fake tan due to the hassle of applying and waiting for it to dry, then it rubs off. GlowDry mousse and powder are a game changer, I love how I can apply, get dressed instantly, then go out. Very happy, will be buying more!” one shopper wrote.
“I’ve been using GlowDry since the beginning and now I’ve just started using the new tan and I highly recommend. So easy to use, wash off after 4/5hrs and you will be glowing. Wears off nicely, no patches etc,” another added.
Fiona shot to fame in 2018 when she launched her GlowDry Australia award-winning fake tan drying powder in 2018.
Her sellout buy caught the eye of LA tan artist Isabel Alysa, who looks after the likes of Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, and it has since continued to sell out.
“As a former spray tan artist who is super pale and has fake tanned her entire life, I am truly passionate about the fake tan space and giving women really beneficial products,” Fiona previously told 7Life.
“I saw a gap in the market for a fake tan that was natural and affordable.
“I also work as an environmental health officer, so it was really crucial to me to make something that was recyclable, refillable and women could reuse.”
What also sets GlowDry Australia’s products apart from other buys in the crowded self-tanning market is Fiona’s dedicated approach to formulation.
“We use clay from South Australia, starch, minerals to give it the shimmer,” she says.
“But crucially, we don’t use alcohol, which many fake tans do and which is super drying for the skin.”
Instead, she enriches the products with hyaluronic acid — which is known to be brilliant for the skin.
When Fiona launched GlowDry and the revolutionary powder and brush in 2018, it wasn’t long before the $9,000 of savings she invested in the business skyrocketed.
“On the first day we had eight sales,” she says.
“There wasn’t anything else like the powder on the market, anything that gets rid of that stickiness you get after you first apply fake tan.”
Today, Fiona is a busy, working mum-of-three and the brand is stocked in Priceline and Chemist Warehouse stores across the country and adored by thousands of women.
She has also turned over $1 million in sales since the launch of GlowDry.
Fiona has no plans to stop with her tanning empire any time soon, and she knows the appetite is there for fake tan.
“Mintel (market research) figures show that Aussies spent $60 million on fake tan alone,” she says.
“This is up from $30 million in 2018.
“My plan is to develop GlowDry into as many multi-tasking tanning products as possible.
“I know women have less and less time and they need products that do the job quickly.
“My aim is to have products that are really beneficial to women — quickly.”
She added: “I’m a mum and a fake tan lover with no business experience and I’ve taken everything I love about tan and put it into one bottle.
“I’m so passionate about this niche and think that it’s possible to do what you want, provided you have the passion.”
