Best eczema cream for sufferers: Australian mum suffering from severe skin condition discovers MooGoo

Aussie mum-of-two Christine Vyse, 46, has shelled out as much on skincare as it would cost to fund a second mortgage, all in a bid to help stave off her severe eczema

Christine’s skin condition was so severe her husband was forced to get a FIFO job in a bid to lift his salary, while she went from working part-time to full-time so they could afford to pay $1600 a month to cover her treatment.

The mum-of-two claims that her ongoing skin issues have been caused by the continuous use of topical steroids prescribed to her by dermatologists and doctors.

Her debilitating condition causes painful red, raw and itchy skin to appear, flaking off in large sections and making it near impossible to go about her everyday life with ease.

Australia has one of the highest rates of eczema with about one in three children suffering from the skin condition.

Data also shows about one-third of Australians experience eczema at some point in their lives.

Christine has spent thousands on specialists, tests and treatments, including a $3000 red light therapy machine and as a last resort, turned to a $1600 injectable treatment.

“I got so desperate, if someone told me rubbing dog poo on my skin would help, I’d have done it,” she told Best Picks.

However her skin turned a corner after she discovered eczema and psoriasis-healing creams from Australian natural skincare brand MooGoo.

Her skin is now perfectly clear thanks to her injection routines and follow-up creams from MooGoo and it’s only costing her shy of $100 a month now.

“I was at rock bottom in September 2020 and now feel on top of the world,” Christine said.

MooGoo’s Eczema and Psoriasis Cream for $26.32 from Amazon Australia provides symptomatic relief of eczema and dermatitis, infant eczema, mild psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis.

The MooGoo cream has a 4.6-star rating on Amazon and shoppers say “it works very quickly”.

And that there was a huge spike in sales this winter, with MooGoo selling an eczema cream every minute and 45 seconds.

“Topical steroid withdrawal is increasingly being discussed on social media and in our inbox,” Melody explained.

The MooGoo CEO advised people who are wanting to stop using steroids should consult their specialist first.

She said that recovery from topical steroid withdrawal requires a gentle and holistic approach to soothe irritated skin and repair the skin barrier.
