Artist’s biography
Riccardo Dubitante is an Italian photographer.
He grew up in a small town outside Milan with his family where he soon realises he was not a good fit in the predominantly straight and upper middle class environment he finds himself in.
After graduating in Human Sciences he moves to London to attend a Film Studies degree at UCL.
During his stay in London he starts experimenting with photography, finding his passion in portraying people he meets and exploring the creative scope of light, texture and shape.
His influences and inspirations come from many parallel art forms, notably certain cinematic genres. He is intrigued by the unexpected and the individual, always looking for unconventionality and intimacy in his portraits.
He then moves back to Milan where he decides to focus solely on photography and starts collaborating with clients such as Valentino, Nike, Adidas, COS, Gucci, Diesel, Yoox, American Express, Tod’s.
He finds in fashion photography a fertile ground for his experimentations and study of modern society and individuals, with his works featured in print editions of many international magazines.
