Today Bakealicious will be baking for none other than Taylor Swift.
Gabriela Oporto, founder at Bakealicious, spoke about the cake she made for Taylor Swift.
“The cake we made for Tay Tay represents everything Bakealicious is about – handmade with quality ingredients – we combined Taylor’s favourites Milk Bar Store Cake and our traditional Chilean Mil Hojas and Dulce de Leche Cake.
“It’s finished off with puff pastry horns filled with Dulce de Leche buttercream. Then sprinkled with pastel glitters and the final touch a purple flower (Taylor’s favourite colour).“
Recipe below:
Sprinkle sponge cake
125g self-raising Flour
8 egg yolks
5 egg whites
140g caster Sugar
160g confetti sprinkles
Method
Grease 2 x 8 inch moulds.
Place yolks with half the sugar (70g) in a bowl and whisk until light and fluffy — approximately 5 to 8 minutes. Leave aside.
In a clean and dry bowl, place egg whites and remaining sugar (70g) — whisk until light and fluffy.
Slowly add yolk mixture to egg whites with the mixer at low speed.
Add sifted flour to the egg mix at low speed. Do not over mix.
Lastly, add confetti. Divide batter evenly into the two moulds.
Bake at 160C degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
