Average penis size – doctor ‘sets the record straight’ with advice

As a family doctor, Dr Jen Caudle talks about a lot of stuff when it comes to people’s health. Among many things she believes it’s important to talk about penis size.

The US doctor, who has more than 162,000 followers on TikTok, posted to her channel to dispel myths surrounding length and size. She said: “I want to impart some knowledge about what the true average size of penises tend to be. One reason is because I think most people or rather many people think that the average penis size is a lot longer and larger than it actually is.

“Number two, there is a lot of societal pressure to be a certain way. This goes for both men and women and I’m not a fan of it.

“I want to tell you some facts, hopefully that will help set the record straight on what really is.”

Before jumping straight to the point, Dr Caudle wanted to share an important message that “you’re fine just the way you are”. She said: “The societal pressure that we put on ourselves, that we see on the internet, on television etc. to be bigger, better, everything, that’s wrong. What matters is you.”

So what’s the average size of a flaccid penis, according to Dr Caudle? 3.6 inches.

She added: “The average size of an erect penis is 5.17 inches. Did you know that?

“It’s actually shorter than I think a lot of people would imagine.”

Researchers at University College London measured the penises of 103 men to figure out the average size. Males of all ages were included.

The average penis length among this group often was found to be 5.1 inches when “soft and gently stretched”.

The researchers found no link between shoe size and penis length.

The NHS also revealed shorter penises increase more in length than longer ones when they become erect.
