A young Aussie who was recently crowned “Australia’s fastest cleaner” has revealed the budget supermarket product he swears by for a sparkling home, and his top cleaning secrets.
Professional Jason Shipway, 22, went head to head with five other cleaning fanatics in what was called the Olympics of Cleaning, the VIVA House of Spills Challenge.
He emerged victorious after managing to clean a fully-white house in a record two minutes and 14 seconds armed only with VIVA’s fast-absorbing paper towel.

Do a bite-size clean
The first thing he recommends everyone embrace is something called the “bite-size clean”, so that no jobs ever get too daunting to carry out.
“Often people will do one big clean a week, but this creates the feeling of a really big cleaning job, and often takes more time as mess and spills all pile up and add time in the long run,” he explained.
Instead, Jason recommends embracing the bite-sized clean by tackling one small cleaning task each day, or every second day.
This makes the cleaning job feel less “big” and saves time longer-term as you’re cleaning as you go.
Adopt a ‘top to bottom, left to right’ strategy
Next, Jason said you need a strategy.
“A lot of people waste time randomly cleaning a room or house without a clear plan of attack,” he explained.
Instead, he said you sould clean a room from the top moving downwards, allowing dust and debris to fall and be cleaned up quickly as you go.
Alongside this, cleaning left to right also helps keep you “focused and methodical”, which is helpful in speeding up the cleaning process.
Get the right tools
Finally, the right tools are absolutely essential for the perfect clean.
