An Australian model with an incredible global career has died at just 28, it’s been confirmed.
Sian Scale, who was based in Melbourne but also worked in London, New York and Paris, was 28.
She died at Melbourne’s Peter McCallum Centre after contracting a rare and incurable cancer, the Herald Sun reported.
Her modelling agency Chadwick confirmed the death saying Sian died peacefully “surrounded by the love of her family”.
The agency added, “Sian was a bright and unique light in our world who unapologetically marched to her own beat. We will all miss her more than words can express, and her incredible work in pictures will immortalise her forever.”
Brands and makeup artists who worked with Scale paid tribute to the young model, describing her as “beautiful inside and out”.
“Such a sweet soul that we had the pleasure to know and work with. From all of us, we’ll miss you,” haircare brand Eleven Australia said.
From makeup artist Rob Povey: “I had the pleasure of working with Sian multiple times over the years and she was always a joy to be around every time we’d see each other.”
“My condolences to her loved ones for their loss.”
Scale grew up in Mansfield in Victoria’s Alps region, and began her international career walking for Marc Jacobs, before appearing in Vogue and Vanity Fair.
