Aussie golden couple Lleyton and Rebecca Hewitt join A-listers in the Royal Box at Wimbledon

Lleyton and Rebecca Hewitt have been in the public eye for more than 20 years — but the couple looked almost unrecognisable when they were seen at Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday.

The celebrity couple certainly didn’t look out-of-place in the Royal Box surrounded by Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as tennis greats Debbie Jevans and Chris Vert, Cumberbatch’s wife Sophie Hunter, and chair of the All England Lawn Tennis Club Phillip Brook.

Lleyton and Bec chatted with US tennis great Stan Smith, and were also introduced to Catherine, Princess of Wales, with Lleyton seeming to blush as he was talking to the royal.

Meanwhile, Lleyton opted for a navy-blue suit, which he paired with a crisp white shirt and graphic tie.

At the event, the Princess of Wales presented Carlos Alcaraz with the Wimbledon trophy, after the Spaniard won the grand slam for a second year in a row.

The champion took on Novak Djokovic, winning three sets against him.

Lleyton famously won the men’s singles trophy at Wimbledon in 2002, beating Argentina’s David Nalbandia.

At that stage, it was the first time an Aussie had won the title in 15 years.

Lleyton and Bec first met at a charity tennis event in 1999. However, it wasn’t until the couple met again six years later, in 2005, that love blossomed.

“I couldn’t play tennis, so it was quite comical. I didn’t impress him with my game. He just thought it was really admirable that I gave it a go,” Bec told Stellar magazine in 2018.

“We caught up and that was it. It was such a whirlwind, which I think was part of the reason why we ended up with such a lot of attention — because it was after only six weeks that we got engaged,” Bec added.

The couple have three children togteher: Mia, 18, Cruz, 15, and Ava, 12.
