Appeal after man found unconscious on Wagga Wagga footpath

A man is fighting for life after he was found unconscious on a footpath in NSW’s Riverina region.

The man was found with serious head injuries on Pinaroo Dr in Wagga Wagga about 9.05pm on April 11.

NSW Police believe he was attacked with a blunt weapon before he was found and taken to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.

It is understood the 27-year-old had been walking the suburbs of Wagga, but did not make it to his destination.

“The man had planned to walk from Ashmont to Tollund at about 8pm before he was found unconscious,” NSW Police said.

An investigation was launched, but with the alleged perpetrator still on the run, police on Thursday called for help from the public.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
