Au revoir, Cannes! Just one day after Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, Anya Taylor-Joy has already moved onto her next premiere locale: London.
While the actor used the French Riviera festival to show off some Old Hollywood glamour—hello, oversized sun hats, Dior couture, and timeless red lipstick—she’s returned to the land of method dressing with her out-on-the-town look. But, while she may be tapping into her inner biker chick, this isn’t the same post-apocalyptic wasteland that Furiosa inhabits: Taylor-Joy is putting a very 2024 spin on a Mad Max-inspired look with help from the pantless trend.
The actor tried out not one but two trends of the moment. She wore an oversized cherry red leather jacket draped over her shoulders and a black turtleneck underneath. In place of pants, she wore a hodgepodge collection of black and red leather belts complete with various studding and buckles of all sizes, reminiscent of the multiple belts that we saw all over fall 2024 runways.
For the premiere itself, she once again opted into the pantless trend, wearing a black high-cut bodysuit with white rosettes creating the off-the-shoulder neckline. She paired the leotard, from Giambattista Valli’s spring 2024 couture show, with sheer black tights, a pair of black pointy-toe pumps, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Whether she’s ditching her pants but keeping the belts, or giving it the couture treatment, Anya Taylor-Joy shows us that there’s a wide world of possibility when it comes to the pantless trend.
