Anthony Edwards makes one more guarantee after Timberwolves’ loss

Anthony Edwards’ confidence was on full display throughout the Minnesota Timberwolves’ NBA playoff run.

While they fell short of the ultimate goal of winning an NBA title this season, losing in the Western Conference Finals in five games to the Dallas Mavericks, Edwards guaranteed wins twice in postseason play.

The first came against the Denver Nuggets when he told a staffer he’d see them for Game 7 following a tough loss in Game 5. As Edwards promised, the Timberwolves not only won Game 6 but also went on to win Game 7 in Denver.

Unfortunately for Edwards and the T-Wolves, the promise to Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons that he’d bring him shoes for Game 6 didn’t pan out.

But as the old saying goes, third time’s a charm.

Even after the heartbreaking Game 5 loss to the Mavericks to end their season, Edwards remained as confident as ever.

“We’ll be back next year,” Edwards told reporters.
