ALDI shoppers are scratching their heads over a bizarre detail affecting thousands of receipts.
Customers have taken to social media in recent weeks to report that they’d been given a “warranty” after purchasing tins of sliced beetroot at ALDI.
The iconic Aussie buy has been in limited supply in recent months thanks to adverse growing conditions, with ALDI, Woolworths and Coles shoppers all claiming to have issues finding the item on supermarket shelves.

It’s understood that ALDI is starting to see a return of beetroot cans to stores across Australia, as stock slowly returns to normal.
But shoppers have recently noticed the “weird” warranty reference on dockets after purchasing cans.
The line reads: “Warranty: 71406 Beetroot Slices 425g.”
“Since when does beetroot have warranty on it? I wonder if it’s just incase it’s faulty,” said one shopper on the Aldi Mums Facebook page.
Sharing an image of a similar discovery on a recent docket on the Aldi Fans Australia page, another customer wrote: “Well that’s weird!?!?”
Others reported seeing the same thing on their dockets in recent weeks.
“Was on my receipt too. Programming error probably,” said one.
Another said: “I bought some yesterday, had the same in my receipt…”
A third said: “I had the same thing. They must be worried it’s faulty.”
One more added: “The cashier and I were talking about just how strange that is and they have no idea why it’s there.”
7NEWS.com.au understands that the warranty is appearing on all receipts of ALDI customers who purchase 425g tins of beetroot due to a technical error – and not due to any issue with the product.
It’s believed ALDI is currently working to rectify the glitch.
