Report: Rocco Baldelli to return as Twins manager in 2025

After a second-half collapse that saw the Minnesota Twins drop from post-season contention, manager Rocco Baldelli will reportedly be returning to the dugout in 2025.

The Athletic‘s Dan Hayes shared the news Sunday afternoon.

The Twins enter Sunday with an 82-79 record and sit in fourth place in the AL Central. However, Minnesota is just 9-17 in September, a stretch that saw them blow a 5.5-game lead in the wild card over the final month.

Minnesota currently ranks 21st in MLB in runs against and 10th in runs scored.

Baldelli has served as the Twins’ manager since 2019, racking up a 457-412 record and earning three trips to the playoffs.

He won the AL Manager of the Year award in 2019 and finished in the top five of voting in 2020 and 2023.

The 43-year-old spent seven seasons as a player in the majors, suiting up for 519 games with the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox.
