Harris plans to troll Trump during Georgia-Alabama game hours after he called her ‘mentally impaired’: Live

A fly interrupted Trump’s rally speech in Wisconsin on Saturday, which he insinuated could be due to an influx of migrants.

“Two years ago I wouldn’t have had a fly up here,” the former president said.

The Walz Harris campaign had previously planned to fly a plane over the football game in Alabama but the campaign switched course due to weather conditions in the area.

The banner was supposed to read: “Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate.” Trump is currently attending the game. The campaign still intends to run a TV ad mocking him into participating in a second debate.

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance tried to make a campaign stop at a restaurant near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday but ran into a problem when the restaurant didn’t want him inside.

According to an NBC News reporter, Vance tried to stop at a Primanti Bros but the restaurant’s staff told him there could be no cameras inside nor did they want to be part of a “campaign event.”

Vance repeated misleading claims that Trump is responsible for capping insulin at $35 a month.

The Inflation Reduction Act, which President Joe Biden signed into law in 2022, forced insurance companies not to charge over $35 a month for insulin. But Vance told the crowd Trump is the reason for the cap. “Don’t let Kamala Harris lie and take credit for it,” he said.

Trump did institute a voluntary cap on insulin during his time in office.

The crowd at a JD Vance event booed when a reporter at The Philadelphia Inquirer tried to ask him a question.

“Let her ask her question,” Vance told the crowd. “And then we can boo afterwards if it’s a ridiculous question.”

The vice presidential contenders are pleading their case in the two states after a recently published New York Times/Siena College poll showed Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are running neck and neck.

Some of the tighest races are in Wisconsin and Michigan. Trump held a campaign rally in Wisconsin on Saturday. Harris is currently fundraising in California.

It’s no surprise Donald Trump supporters strongly support mass deportations of immigrants living in the United States illegally while Kamala Harris supporters believe admitting immigrants into the U.S. ensures a diverse population.

The two differing beliefs stand in stark contrast to one another, and they give some insights into how political rhetoric has shaped how people view immigrants.

Polling from Pew Research Center shows that Harris supporters are more welcoming of immigrants and believe they can fill labor shortages, diversify the population and deserve to seek asylum when necessary.

In a survey of Americans, 27 percent of Harris supporters said they support mass deportations – a policy Trump has promoted.

But 88 percent of Trump supporters said they favor mass deportations. Additionally, they do not think being married to a U.S. citizen or even being a refugee should even allow immigrants to stay in the country.

President Joe Biden called the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah “a measure of justice” for the thousands of civilians that he and the terrorist organization killed over the last three decades.

“Hassan Nasrallah and the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror,” Biden said in a statement. “His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.”

The president’s statement arrives after Lebanon’s Hezbollah group confirmed that Nasrallah, 64, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on Friday.

Vice President Kamala Harris echoed Biden’s statement, saying, “Today, Hezbollah’s victims have a measure of justice.”

Donald Trump’s rally in Wisconsin was moved to a smaller indoor venue because the Secret Service resources are being “pushed to their limits”, a senior official briefed on the planning told The Independent.

During Trump’s rally speech on Saturday, he complained that the venue was forced to move indoors to a smaller space because the Biden administration refused to allocate more Secret Services resources.

“The administration couldn’t give us the Secret Service necessary because they’re guarding the Iranian president who is looking to kill Trump,” the former president said.

An official, briefed on the rally security planning but not authorized to speak to the media, said that the personnel and equipment are being pushed to their limits because of the number of protectees they are trying to manage. Trump’s Saturday rally arrived at the same time as the U.N. General Assembly in New York City where the Secret Service is responsible for the safety and security of more than 140 world leaders.

Anthony Guglielmi, Secret Service Chief of Communications, said in an official statement that Trump is “receiving heightened levels of U.S. Secret Service protection and our top priority is mitigating risks to ensure his continued safety at all times.”

Guglielmi said he could not provide specific details about the resources used for the event for security reasons.

Trump used words like “disgusting”, “animals”, “hoodlums”, “thugs” and “invasion” to describe the influx of migrants to the United States during a rally on Saturday in Wisconsin.

The former president, who is campaigning on an anti-immigration platform, told rallygoers that migrants would take their “culture” away from them and criticized migrants in Springfield, Ohio for not speaking English.

Trump often claims migrants are creating widespread violent crime – something there is no evidence of – and that more violent crime will occur if mass deportations don’t happen and the US–Mexico border isn’t “closed.”
