Rachel Maddow Hilariously Calls Out ‘Pommel Horse Guy’

Rachel Maddow would like to have a word with Stephen Nedoroscik.

Appearing on “Watch What Happens Live” Tuesday, Maddow shared the one question she’d ask a host of public figures ― including Taylor Swift and former President Donald Trump ― if she were given the opportunity to interview them.

When host Andy Cohen mentioned Nedoroscik, the Team USA gymnast also widely known as the “pommel horse guy,” Maddow had a cheeky response.

“Do you feel guilty about stealing my look?” the MSNBC host quipped as Cohen and fellow guest Sherri Shepherd erupted into laughter.

True to form, Maddow followed up her question with a compliment of sorts for Nedoroscik, who, like Maddow, wears dark-rimmed glasses and keeps his hair in a short, loose style.

“He does it better, I have to say,” she said. “Between us, I’d pick him!”

A Massachusetts native, Nedoroscik won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics this summer for his pommel horse routine in the men’s individual and team gymnastics finals.

In doing so, he became the first individual medalist for the men’s USA team since 2016. That feat also catapulted the 25-year-old into the cultural zeitgeist, with his legions of admirers likening Nedoroscik to Superman and his alter ego, Clark Kent, every time he wore his glasses and took them off to perform.

Currently, Nedoroscik is competing on Season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars,” which premiered Tuesday. During the premiere, he danced a jive to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” and began his first routine with a wink at his viral fame by ― of course ― removing his glasses.
