“We’re thrilled to introduce The Ledge to our Mustard family,” said co-founder and creative director Becca Stern.

“It embodies our design philosophy of combining practicality with beauty.”

The Ledge complements Mustard’s existing collection of lockers perfectly.

It’s also a great entry point for those new to the brand. With its sleek design, powder-coated finish and medallion detail, The Ledge adds a pop of colour to any wall.

It comes just three months after the brand released The Standard, a four-door cupboard that’s more than just a TV unit.

With four lockable doors and adjustable shelving inside, the $649 Standard cupboard is billed as a “console with confidence”.

The sisters behind Mustard Made describe the cupboard as “an entertainment hub, perfect to house your TV or your vinyl collection”.

“She’s the storage solution for toys, shoes, cables and more. Pop her in your entryway, under a window, in your living space or at the foot of your bed,” Becca and Jess Stern said.

Available in 12 different colours, there’s a “Standard” unit for everyone, whether you’re a pastel girl who loves Blush or you love a pop of bright Butter.

There are also darker hues such as Olive if you like to keep things deep and earthy in your home.

The cupboard comes complete with four adjustable shelves, two cable holes, two wall attachment points, four doors and four keyrings.

When it comes to how to use the “Standard”, Becca and Jess have four different ways you can use it at home.

First up, it works perfectly in a kitchen or dining area with your glassware and china safely stashed away, with room on top for your special styling pieces and recipe books.

Alternatively, if you have kids, you could use it in their room or the playroom to store toys and trinkets inside, while the top is the perfect play surface.

You can also lock the doors if you want to keep their breakables safe, too.

Next, Becca and Jess recommend you try it in the hall or mudroom as an organisational device.

“Tuck away bags and umbrellas and keep your floors clear of mess. Keep shoes out of sight, and use the top to drop your keys, wallet and essentials as you come and go,” they explain.

Finally, the “Standard” is perfect in the living room, where it works as the ultimate TV unit or media console.

“Store your record player and vinyl collection in style, keep your tech hub tidy with the handy cable holes inside, and add some mood lighting on top for the finishing touch,” Becca and Jess explain.

According to Becca and Jess, Mustard came about as a way to keep seeing and speaking to each other, as both sisters lived on other sides of the world.

“We always dreamed of starting a business together as despite the physical distance between us, we’re so close,” Becca previously told Best Picks.

Mustard Made was dreamed up while I was on maternity leave and when Jess came out to visit me and my new baby.

We basically hatched a plan to go into business together so we’d always get to see each other.”

The name Mustard Made came about because Becca and Jess knew that colour was going to be one of the defining features of the brand.

The sisters understood that while not everyone loves lockers, those who do feel passionately about them — much like mustard.

“Lockers are an acquired taste,” Becca says.

“Our dad was like, ‘No one is going to buy these, it doesn’t make sense’. And now he has several at his house.”

Becca adds: “I’ve always had a strange fascination with old, rusty vintage lockers and old furniture. I live in a really old home with no built-in storage”.

They launched in 2018 via a wholesale approach, partnering up with several leading homewares stores and doing a showing at a trade show, where they promptly sold out out.

Since launching in 2018, Mustard Made has only enjoyed more success, and now Becca and Jess’s lockers are found in thousands of homes around the world.

The different types of lockers they sell are often used for different places.

The Shorty, for instance, makes the perfect bedside table or office cabinet, while the wider Lowdown style is an ideal TV unit, console or storage unit.

Finally, the Twinny is a wardrobe that’s perfect for kids’ rooms, or you can stack several Skinny cupboards together in different colours for a fun mix and match effect.
