Seth Meyers mocked former President Donald Trump for using appearances on Fox News as some kind of therapy whenever the going gets tough.
GOP nominee Trump is “clearly very triggered” at the moment, Meyers said on Thursday’s broadcast of his NBC show “Late Night.”
“You can tell when he’s not feeling very good about himself because that’s when he reaches for his Fox News security blanket,” the comedian added.
Meyers aired footage of Fox News hosts treating Trump “like a customer on QVC who can’t make up their mind” when he dialed into the conservative network’s coverage of the Democratic National Convention and they repeatedly tried to bounce him from the line.
“I can’t even count the number of times he called in to ‘Fox and Friends’ and rambled for an hour while the host just sat there, stone-faced, like campers trying not to catch the attention of a passing bear,” Meyers added. “Next time they should just let it go to voicemail and let the machine cut him off.”
