Missing daughter of ex-MLB pitcher found safe, ex-boyfriend arrested

Former MLB pitcher Greg Swindell got the best ‘safe’ call of his life.

His daughter, Brenna, has been found two days after the retired all-star and his wife announced she was missing.

According to NewsNation, the Travis County, Tex., sheriff said they found the 29-year-old woman overnight Tuesday with ex-boyfriend Morgan Guidry, who is in custody after being arrested.

“She has been found. That’s all we have for now,” Swindell tweeted on Tuesday morning. “Thank you to everyone. And I mean everyone who helped in the process.”

He later thanked his followers for their kind words, posting: “Thanks for all the messages call and most of all PRAYERS. Journey home starts soon.”

Guidry’s father, who had been working with the Swindells to find the missing pair, told an ABC affiliate in Austin that his son left a message stating: “Off to travel the world Morgan + Brenna, see you on other side.”

There had been an active warrant out for Morgan Guidry’s arrest since early July on an assault charge.

The missing persons case first came to light on Monday, when Greg Swindell made a public plea on social media to help find his daughter, who was reported missing in Texas and had not been seen since Thursday.

“Our daughter Brenna Swindell has not been seen or heard from in the Austin area since late Thursday afternoon,” the Swindell family posted on Facebook.

“Her phone is off and she has not been in contact with family, friends, and most importantly her children. Her ex-boyfriend in the photo has a warrant and is violent so please if you have seen or heard from either one of them, let us know. She drives a white Kia Carnival which has not been located yet.”

Sarah also posted about the good news on Tuesday morning.

“Brenna and Morgan have been located and are okay!” Sarah wrote. “THANK YOU to everyone who prayed and shared information to us!“

During his MLB career, Swindell logged a 3.86 ERA while pitching for several teams, including Cleveland, Cincinnati, Houston, Boston and Arizona. He was an all-star in 1989 and won the World Series with the Diamondbacks in 2001.
