Gunfire erupted at a banquet hall in Scarborough early Saturday.
Fortunately, nobody was injured.
Toronto Police say officers responded to the Markham Convention Centre – located at Markham Rd. and McNicoll Ave. – after receiving reports of gunshots heard in the area around 4:50 a.m.
Shell cases were found in the area, confirming there had been a shooting, but cops say there were no reported injuries.
Investigators are looking for a dark-coloured SUV that was spotted leaving the area.

The investigation is “ongoing,” police said.

MOTORCYCLIST FIGHTING FOR LIFE AFTER NORTH YORK CRASH
A 33-year-old motorcyclist was fighting for his life in hospital after his bike was struck by a car at a North York intersection Friday afternoon.
Toronto Police say the two vehicles collided at Finch Ave. E. and Seneca Hill Rd. – just east of Don Mills Rd. – just after 6 p.m.
A Ford Edge was driving west on Finch approaching Seneca Hill Dr. when it hit the eastbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.
“The driver of the Ford Edge made a left turn at the intersection, police allege. “The Harley Davidson struck the Ford Edge.”
The 33-year-old man riding the motorcycle was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford Edge remained on scene.
