Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey Flavoured Liqueur, sold at Dan Murphy’s and BWS, urgently recalled

A popular alcohol sold at Dan Murphy’s and BWS has been urgently recalled due to an undeclared allergen.

Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey Flavoured Liqueur in 750ml and 50ml varieties has been recalled.

The whiskey may not declare the presence of sesame and the recall only applies to products that do not do so.

Customers with a sesame allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed.

The products have been available for sale nationally at Dan Murphy’s and BWS, as well as independent liquor retailers including IGA and on-premise outlets.

“Consumers who have a sesame allergy or intolerance should not consume the product,” Food Standards Australia said.

“Consumers should return the (whiskey) to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey Flavoured Liqueur is sold in Australia and New Zealand in partnership with Pernod Ricard Winemakers, who have a portfolio of brands including Jacob’s Creek, GH Mumm and Jameson.
