Fifth arrest made in July carjacking: Toronto Police

Nathan Glenn Osman, 19, faces armed robbery and failure to comply charges

One month after cops arrested four men in connection with a July 8 carjacking in North York, police have arrested a fifth man in the violent incident.

At around 3:45 a.m. on July 8, the victim and a friend stopped to pick up two men in the Jane and Finch area.

A short time later, one of the two men held a firearm against the head of the driver and demanded the keys.

The suspects were last seen driving away in the victim’s car.

While executing a search warrant on July 24, members of the Toronto Police hold-up squad arrested four Toronto men: Leshawn Biggart, 21, Tafari Greene, 23, Jason Seymour, 18, and Darnell Vassal, 22.

Police also seized two handguns, a replica handgun, ammunition and fentanyl.

At the time, the second alleged carjacker was still at large, but on Thursday, police discovered their suspect — 19-year-old Nathan Glenn Osman of Toronto — had been arrested on an unrelated matter.

Osman faces armed robbery charges, as well as disguise with intent and failing to comply with release orders.

SECOND ARREST IN TORONTO ROBBERY

Toronto Police have a second man in custody following a violent smash and grab earlier this year, with a third suspect still outstanding.

Just after 11 p.m. on May 30, three men entered a “store” in the College St and Spadina Ave. area and assaulted the clerk, threatening him with a brick.

The culprits used the brick to smash a display case, and fled with a quantity of merchandise.

Conrad Cleghorn, 41, of Toronto, was arrested a short distance from the scene and faces armed robbery charges.

On Thursday, police conducted a search warrant and arrested Michael Matthews, 54, of Toronto, charging him with armed robbery.

The third suspect remains outstanding, and no description was available.

ONE ARREST, ONE SOUGHT IN TORONTO BANK ROBBERY

Toronto cops are still looking for a suspect after making an arrest in connection with an attempted July bank robbery in Downsview.

Police say two men went to a bank near Dufferin St. and Steeprock Dr., entered an office and demanded cash.

Upon being denied by bank staff, the two men began making threats. They fled once the victim began to call police.

On Thursday, members of the hold-up squad located one of the suspects, who was already in police custody for an unrelated matter.

Bahodir Olimov, 20, of Toronto, faces robbery charges.

The second suspect is described as a slim male with an olive complexion with light brown hair, last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
