Cowboys’ Brandon Aubrey nails 66-yard field goal vs. Raiders

Brandon Aubrey would have made NFL history on Saturday night if it wasn’t the pre-season.

The Dallas Cowboys kicker tied the record for longest field goal in NFL history when he drilled a 66-yarder to end the first half of his team’s pre-season game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Of course, it doesn’t count because it wasn’t a regular-season game, but that doesn’t diminish the impressive nature of the boot.

Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens set the record with a 66-yard field goal against the Detroit Lions in 2021.

Only 11 players have made a kick from 62 yards out or more in NFL history.

A first-round pick by Toronto FC in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Aubrey quit soccer after the 2018 season and tried his luck at football in the USFL in 2022.

The Cowboys signed him last year and he went on to make 36 of 38 field goals, earning a Pro Bowl spot.
