She should have thrown a spitball.
Hailey Welch, better known as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl, threw out the first pitch at a New York Mets game against the Oakland Athletics on Thursday. Wearing a No. 1 Mets jersey, Welch, who went viral for her take on oral sex, threw a strike to a friend.
She then spat on the field. Yes, that happened.

Welch got a mixed reception from Mets fans. Some cheered her on, many booed. Some also took to social media to criticize the Mets for inviting her.
A day later, Welch attempted to clear the air on X.
“So I guess some of the baseball community wasn’t too happy to see me yesterday,” she wrote in a post on X. “The main reason I went to the game was to spread awareness and donate to America’s vet dogs which pairs dogs with war veterans for a forever home.
“Join me in donating to this amazing charity. I miss ya already Buddy.”
America’s VetDogs serves as a non-profit foundation that works to provide service dogs to first responders and veterans with disabilities.
Last month Welch went on Bill Maher’s podcast and dropped a spit take about her neighbours to the north. Maybe she was talking about Wasaga Beach when she dropped knowledge on the bathroom habits of Canadians?

Welch, who is from a tiny part of Tennessee, told Maher she had heard that in Canada everyone goes to the bathroom in outhouses. The quip came about after Maher joked about Welch and other people in her town possibly not having indoor plumbing.

“They don’t have an outhouse where you throw mulch on your s–. I think that’s a thing they do up in Canada,” Welch said. “Don’t they have outhouses in Canada?”
Maher was confused, so she went on: “They don’t flush. You just throw s– on it.”
Maher tried to shut her down, but Welch said again: “They don’t have bathrooms there. They just have outhouses.”
Welch would have found out the truth had she been able to attend the Calgary Stampede as she’d intended. Though the portapotty’s at the festival might have confused her. Either way, the plans fell through.
