The Dancing With The Stars Grand Finale was an act of perfection, as star of stage and screen Lisa McCune beat out singing sensation Samantha Jade to take home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
The five grand finalists — Samantha Jade, James Stewart, Nikki Osborne, Ant Middleton and Lisa McCune — performed their own expertly crafted freestyle dance in the ultimate ballroom showdown.

“It really was unexpected,” McCune tells 7NEWS.com.au of the win.
In particular, the actress is thrilled for her dancing partner Ian Waite who wins the Mirrorball Trophy for the first time.
The win comes after months of tough work, a challenge McCune was surprised to find was more difficult than she first assumed.
“My agent said to me that somebody else had told them how difficult it was. And I thought, ‘Well, I probably needed a bit of a bit of a kick up the bum to do a bit more exercise’,” she says.
“So I thought, ‘Well, it’d be good for me’.
“I started and I pretty quickly realised that the techniques involved and the different disciplines is pretty intense.
“I think you underestimate how aerobically fit you actually need to be.
“But I gave it a red-hot go, and we had a really good time.”
Lisa topped the leaderboard on Monday night with a perfect score for her old-school Hollywood-inspired performance, which Helen Richey called the stand-out performance of the night.
Dancing a burlesque-inspired routine to her own recording of Show Me How to Burlesque, Samantha kickstarted the show and received 38 points.
Ant Middleton channelled his inner gladiator for his performance, which Mark Wilson “loved from the start,” earning him 34 points.
Samantha, Ant and Lisa then re-performed their favourite dances from earlier in the series, where they received 38, 36 and 39 points respectively, before the studio audience cast their final vote.
Sonia Kruger and Chris Brown announced Ant Middleton had received the lowest number of votes — coming third in the competition — which left Samantha and Lisa to battle it out for the Mirrorball Trophy.
“Watching it back, I couldn’t recall any of the scores that we got because when you’re in the moment your adrenaline is kind of heightened, and (it’s like) watching it fresh,” she says.
Lisa was crowned Dancing With The Stars champion and was awarded $20,000 for her chosen charities — the RCD Foundation and the Harrison Riedel Foundation.
“Both the charities I have a personal connection to in my local area, based on Victoria, both of them headed up by two amazing mums
“These initiatives are spectacular.”
