Former President Trump on Tuesday attacked media outlets over coverage of his lengthy chat with billionaire Elon Musk on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, which the mogul owns.
“I spent 2 1/2 hours last night talking to Elon, a fantastic guy, getting all-time record Views/hits, and all the Fake News wants to report is that the servers crashed (because of the tremendous volume!), and the show opened a little late,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website after taking in media coverage of the conversation.
“What they should be reporting was the incredible number of people that were listening. I absolutely HATE the Fake News Media,” Trump said. “So bad for our Country!”
The conversation between Musk and Trump was delayed for more than half an hour on Monday after experiencing apparent technical issues. Musk posted on the platform during the delay saying X was going through a “massive DDOS,” or denial-of-service attack, targeting the platform.
At its peak, the “Spaces” chat between Trump and Musk hit over 1 million listeners.
During the free-flowing talk, Musk asked the former president about his recent assassination attempt and views on issues ranging from immigration to crime and the economy.
Musk, who often promotes conservative causes and influencers on X, has pledged his support for Trump and has promised to spend millions to help the former president win the election this fall.
