Court documents reveal what Sydney teacher accused of having sex with student told police

New bombshell allegations have emerged about the Sydney schoolteacher accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student.

Court documents reveal Tayla Brailey said “I’m going to jail, aren’t I?” when police confronted her at Lurnea High.

The 30-year-old recently-married teacher is accused of having unprotected sex with the student in the back of a car, after exchanging lewd videos.

It is also alleged another student walked in on her performing a sex act on a boy at her home.

Brailey is charged with sexually touching a person under special care and sexual intercourse with a person under special care.

She faced Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday and was granted conditional bail.

Brailey remained silent outside court as she was asked if she had anything to say to her students.

She was given permission to attend via video link when the case returns to court in October.

Asked whether Brailey would be fighting the allegations, her lawyer Patrick Schmidt said it was “early stages”.

“We’re going to wait until we get the brief of evidence,” he said outside court.

The NSW Education Department told 7NEWS Brailey had been suspended without pay after being charged.

The department is providing support to students and staff.
