Alto K10 defect: Maruti Suzuki to recall 2,555 Alto K10 vehicles for possible defect; affected customers advised against driving the vehicle

Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday announced that it will recall 2,555 Alto K10 vehicles for a possible defect in Steering Gear Box Assembly (“Part”). The said defect, in a rare case, may affect the vehicle steerability, as per the company’s statement on exchanges.

“Out of abundant caution, customers of the affected vehicles are advised not to drive or use the vehicle till the Part is replaced,” the country’s largest carmaker said.

Affected vehicle owners will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshops for inspection and replacement of the Part, “free of cost.”

In March this year, the company had to recall over 16,000 units of its two top-selling car models, Baleno and WagonR due to a defect in its fuel pump motor.

“It is suspected that there is a possible defect in a part of fuel pump motor, which in a rare case may lead to engine stalling or engine starting issue,” Maruti said then said.
