Police probe after bodies of man and woman found on boat moored in Cammeray, Sydney

The bodies of a man and woman have been found on a boat moored in waters in Sydney’s north.

Police boarded a 47ft yacht which was moored at Tunks Park in Cammeray about 9pm on Wednesday night due to welfare concerns for two people believed to be aboard the vessel.

The pair had planned to spend Monday night on the boat, however the alarm was raised when they didn’t return.

When police boarded the boat they found the bodies of a man and a woman, both believed to be aged in their 50s or 60s.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews later attended due to concerns about fumes detected on board.

“A crime scene has now been established and inquiries commenced by detectives,” police said.

“A number of items have been identified at the scene and will be taken for forensic examination.”

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the man and woman’s cause of death, and their identities.

Anyone who has any information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
