Post your questions for Jason Schwartzman | Film

You’d probably most associate Jason Schwartzman with Wes Anderson films as he’s been in seven of the blighters: Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The French Dispatch and 2023’s Asteroid City.

You might also be aware that he’s from a famous film family, which includes uncle Francis Ford Coppola, cousins Roman and Sofia and (on the other side) cousin Nicolas Cage.

His other big-screen works include 2002 nerd comedy Slackers and 2004 black comedy I Heart Huckabees. He appeared as King Louis XVI in 2006’s Marie Antoinette (directed by his cousin Sofia) and as Ringo Starr in 2007 spoof biopic Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Oh, and he was in Judd Apatow’s Funny People, and Scott Pilgrim vs The World. He’s also a musician – a drummer by trade – and appeared in videos for the Beastie Boys. In his new film, Between the Temples, he plays a cantor reeling from the loss of his wife, who finds unexpected kinship with his new, mature Bat Mitzvah student, played by Carol Kane.

Which seemed as good an excuse as any to invite him to take a pew in the Reader interview hotseat, an offer he has politely accepted. Please get your questions in below by 6pm Tuesday 30 July and we’ll print his answers in August.
