Whether it’s the excitement of chugging across the Aegean on a ferry bound for a remote Greek isle or tucking into your first seafood platter on one of the many idyllic islands off France’s Atlantic coast, nothing beats a stay on an island for a sense of total escape. Fortunately, Europe and the UK have thousands of inhabited islands to choose from, from the buzzing Balearics to the wild and remote Faroe Islands.
