During Tuesday’s episode of the trivia game show, host Ken Jennings stopped proceedings midway through the program to make four changes to contestants’ scores.

Jennings told players Isaac Hirsh, Kathy Davis and Anna Paone that the show’s judges had changed their minds on multiple answers.

“I need to update the scores a bit because our judges have notified me of some changes,” said Jennings.

As a result, Hirsh saw his cash prize pot rise from $8,600 to $15,000, while Davis’ winnings decreased from $600 to $200.

Addressing Davis, Jennings said: “Kathy, when you corrected your response from ‘corroborate’ to ‘corroborated,’ that was no longer an 11-letter word. We need to take the second response. So, you will lose $1,600 there.”

For Hirsh, the host said, “The good news is we have ruled we can accept ‘char-grilled’ instead of ‘char-broiled,’ so, you get back $2,400 there.”

But the changes didn’t stop there. Because Davis never would’ve guessed “flame-broiled” as an answer, Jennings said the contestant gets back $1,200.

Hirsh got even more money. Jennings said: “And finally, last but not least, there is a thing called a ‘magic triangle,’ it turns out, and that’s a $4,000 swing for you, Isaac.

“So, these scores as you see them are correct.”

The scoring changes sent Jeopardy! fans on the show’s subreddit on Reddit into a frenzy, with some calling them “insane,” “wild” and “chaotic.”

“That was an insane reversal. The whole game felt very chaotic,” wrote one Redditor.

“That Jeopardy four score correction run was wild,” said another. “How did the judges miss that many responses? I’ve never seen anything like it!”

“Good grief, judges,” noted another, per Daily Mail.

Hirsh won the episode’s Final Jeopardy! with a total amount of $19,601 in prizes, extending his reign as champion to five days and a total pot of $120,186.
