A man has been injured and a weapon seized following what NSW Police are calling an “altercation” at a shopping centre near the Queensland border on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to Tweed City Shopping Centre on Minjungbal Dr in Tweed Heads South about 3.30pm.
A 25-year-old man suffered facial injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
He has been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A weapon has been seized by police although they have not confirmed the item, which will be subject to forensic testing.
