Young man charged with murder after alleged carpark stabbing

A young man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another man to death at a motel carpark on the Victoria-NSW border.

Emergency services were called to a carpark at Wodonga Place in South Albury about 6.15pm on Monday, where they found a 30-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before he was taken to Albury Base Hospital.

He later died at the same hospital.

A crime scene was established and an investigation launched.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on Olive St at Albury, about 9.10pm on Monday.

He was taken to Albury Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear at Albury Local Court on Wednesday.

Strike Force Digny has been established to investigate the incident.
