Leave It to Sienna Miller to Make the Boho Dress Red Carpet-Worthy

Sienna Miller will soon be starring as a lovelorn widow in Kevin Costner’s multi-part throwback western, Horizon: An American Saga. The actor spends most of the film—if the trailer is to be trusted—wandering the vast plains of Utah in ruffled saloon gowns with big woven baskets hooked over her arm. She looks forlorn, worried and sometimes confused at the terrible events that have befallen her homestead.

She shouldn’t, though, because the film’s costuming seems to have been built on Miller’s own blueprint. The actor yesterday evening wore a silk charmeuse gown with lace-trimmed inserts—plucked from Chloé’s spring 2025 collection—with calfskin boots at the movie’s Los Angeles premiere. She looked like the gun-twirling milkmaid-next-door who would doubtless launch a thousand cowboys into conflict. The hem of that dress had been wonkily tucked into the top of a boot, as if Miller had just dismounted a horse.

This isn’t even costume dressing. Being the original figurehead for the “boho chic” movement during the Noughties meant that Miller was among a handful of women placed on the front lines of Chemena Kamali’s debut Chloé catwalk back in March. The star has since worn the brand’s pastoral designs at the 2024 Met Gala and on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival. These are pretty clothes engineered for tough women. I’d like to see a cowboy walk in a hulking wedge.
