Australia’s swim king Kyle Chalmers and Norwegian Olympian Ingeborg Løyning have shared engagement news.
With a simple post on Instagram that noted a date (19.06.24) and included an infinity emoji, the loved-up couple shared a series of photos, with Løyning proudly showing off her engagement ring next to a beaming Chalmers.
Chalmers relationship with the 23-year-old Løyning has been a great source of fascination due to his high-profile ‘love triangle’ days with Australian mega-star Emma McKeon and Cody Simpson.

In December last year Løyning — a backstroker who moved to Adelaide in March in 2023 to prepare for the Paris Olympics —confirmed she was dating Chalmers, telling a Norwegian news channel that they had been an item for around 12 months.
“Yes, we are a couple,” she confirmed.
“We have been there for quite some time, since around December.
“That is not the whole reason, but one of the reasons why I went down to train in Australia.”
Up until then, the couple had been very quiet about their relationship but now they are loud proud.
AFL stars and Australian sporting royalty were all quick to celebrate the engagement news when it caught their eye.
Australian 1500m swimming legend Grant Hackett shared a message of congratulations as did current swim great Ariarne Titmus.
Freestyler Shayna Jack wrote, “Congratulations to you both,” while gun AFL midfielder Clayton Oliver said: “King and queen”.
Former Aussie freestyle champion Brett Hawke said: “To an epic life together.”
And Aussie world champ Sam Short wrote: “I would say simp, but this is awesome. Congrats man.”
Even English breaststroker Adam Peaty chipped in with: “Congratulations both,” while Australian middle-distance runner Stewart McSweyn shared the sentiment.
Chalmers (who is often referred to as ‘King Kyle’) is bidding to become the first Australian to win two Olympic gold medals in the men’s 100m freestyle at next month’s Paris Games.
But he has revealed he is battling a serious back injury and a degenerative spine issue.
After qualifying for his pet event in the recent Australian trials, it came out that he had now taken 10 cortisone injections in his back during his swim career.
“It got pretty stiff and then the Saturday morning, I tried to do a dive and it just all spasmed and locked up,” he said.
“I saw physios and doctors and the best thing I could do was to get four cortisones in my lower back and try to get moving again.
“I am just grateful to be here racing and be back on the mend.
“I know that I can get it right in six weeks’ time (for the Olympics).
“I have put on a pretty brave face to be able to get through but it has definitely been quite challenging.”
Almost five years ago, Chalmers had a second round of heart surgery to correct a condition called supraventricular tachycardia — in layman’s terms, his heart sometimes beat irregularly fast.
He has also had shoulder surgeries and suffered various other injuries, as well as mental health battles.
“The good thing is that mentally and emotionally I’m in a very, very good spot,” he said.
“I’m able to rise above the adversity and the challenges that have been thrown at me.”
