Hit Man: Surprising Rom-Com Is The Top Movie On Netflix

“Hit Man” is currently the most popular movie on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.

The action rom-com is based on a 2001 Texas Monthly magazine article, which director Richard Linklater adapted into a screenplay with actor Glen Powell. Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, and Retta star alongside Powell, who plays an undercover police contractor posing as a hitman.

“Hit Man” joined the streaming service on June 7 after a limited theatrical release on May 24 and premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in September of last year.

The 1995 buddy cop movie stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith as Miami detectives tasked with recovering millions of dollars worth of stolen drugs. Directed by Michael Bay, the movie a commercial hit that became a four-film franchise.

The 2023 drama “Housekeeping for Beginners” is trending on Peacock after joining the platform on June 7.

The film was the Macedonian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards and is a co-production between North Macedonia, Australia, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Poland and the U.S. “Housekeeping for Beginners” centers around the formation of an unlikely family unit after a woman who never aspired to be a mother must care for her girlfriend’s two daughters.
