For the many of us wondering how to dress for a summer in Manchester, Doja Cat is delivering.
This weekend, the singer braved sub-60-degree temperatures to headline the Parklife festival, and her outfit was one part practical, one part aspirational. She kept warm with a cropped gray double-zip sweater from ASOS—a black leather jacket slung over her arm—and paired the cold-weather staple with a summery white lace skirt featuring a tiered hemline (and, in true Doja Cat fashion, no lining) and a pair of maroon pointy toe flats with metal hardware.

Doja is a clear proponent of naked dressing. At the 2024 Grammys, the singer wore a sheer Dilara Findikoglu dress that showed off her bevy of temporary tattoos; and at a 2024 Met Gala after-party, she wore a sheer nude crop top and shorts printed with the Vetements logo. By comparison, this out-and-about UK look is relatively tame.
Considering Carrie Bradshaw liked a black bra under a white shirt, we wonder what she would make of Doja’s contrasting black underwear under her white lace skirt. Perhaps she can test the look out on season three of And Just Like That…
