On Friday July 5, Andrea Bocelli will mark the 30th anniversary of his singing career at BST Hyde Park.
The Italian maestro will be joined by compere Myleene Klass, opera stars Nadine Sierra, Isabel Leonard and Luca Micheletti, plus the Crouch End Festival Chorus Choir.
The first classical artist to headline BST Hyde Park in his 2024 UK exclusive will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Michele Spotti.
Fans have been speculating that Bocelli’s children Matteo Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli could be performing too.
And now his son has confirmed that at least he will be singing at the upcoming show.
Matteo posted on Instagram: “I’m so happy to announce I’ll be opening for my father at BST Summertime in London’s Hyde Park!”
The 26-year-old has been touring with Andrea since launching his professional career before the pandemic.
And in 2023 he released his debut solo album Matteo, a year after the Bocelli’s A Family Christmas.
Andrea Bocelli said: “Hyde Park is the perfect place for coming together to celebrate my 30th anniversary and reimagine it as a springboard propelling us into the future, imbued with positivity and the power of good. Celebrating it here is sure to be unforgettable, in the vast green lung from which London has been drawing breath for hundreds of years, in this park that is the embodiment of a glorious chapter in the history of a nation, of a continent, of a civilisation…and also of so much wonderful music that has rung out here, nourishing it in its wake.”
