Gigi Hadid Styled the Same Outfit Two Very Different Ways—On Back-To-Back Days

Are you having a sporty summer or a boho summer? Gigi Hadid dares to ask: why not have both?

The model was spotted out in New York City mixing what are surely going to be the season’s most predominant trends. She wore a white cotton midi skirt, featuring a scalloped lace hem and peekaboo cutouts shaped like leaves throughout. Over her lightweight skirt and white tee, she donned a tomato red crewneck sweater—which we can only assume is from her cashmere brand, Guest In Residence.

Hadid added a sporty touch with a pair of sneakers befitting a horse girl: black Wales Bonner Adidas Sambas made with pony hair. She added to the athletic look with a pair of tall white socks.

Perhaps the Wales Bonner Sambas, with their crafty blanket stitched tongues, sit at the center of the sporty-boho Venn diagram, and help create cohesion with the otherwise-bohemian outfit. Plus, Hadid’s look isn’t the Chemena Kamali-Chloé type of boho—sexy, layered, and flowing—but something easily replicable for anyone with a white skirt and a pair of sneakers.

She tested out the look again this morning, using the same white midi skirt with a white crop top as a base look. This time, she tied a grungier flannel around her waist, and added a yellow trucker hat. While she abandoned her tomato-hued sweater, she did opt for a pair of similarly colored Chuck Taylors and high white socks. And, as modeled on the Miu Miu spring 2024 runway, she toted an overflowing bag—Miu Miu, of course.

It just goes to show that in the hot summer days, a white tee and a white cotton skirt prove a consistent, buildable look. And Gigi Hadid just gave us not one, but two styling lessons.
