Major disruption to Sydney trains as T5 line stopped for urgent repairs

Sydney rail commuters faced a major disruption on Tuesday morning as the T5 Cumberland Line between Leppington and Blacktown was closed for urgent repairs.

The repairs were required at Harris Park.

Passengers were advised by Transport NSW to use the T2 Inner West and Leppington Line instead and change at either Granville or Lidcombe to complete their trips.

Services returned to normal about 11am.

“Passengers should also listen to announcements, check information displays for updates and allow extra travel time,” a Transport NSW spokesperson said.

The disruption comes less than a week after passengers on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line and South Coast Line services were hit with major delays due to urgent track repairs last Thursday.
