Best robot vacuum for cleaning and mopping: eufy X10 Pro Omni leaves floors sparkling and dirt-free

Vacuuming has always been one of those tasks that seem never-ending, stuck in a Groundhog Day cycle as new dust appears daily.

Just like when you finish a load of laundry and somehow there are more dirty clothes to be washed, with vacuuming, you seem to get rid of the crumbs on the kitchen floor yet turn around, and they have reappeared.

At least that’s the way when you live with housemates.

It’s a simple task yet can feel monotonous and almost pointless with the rate dust and dirt return.

That’s where a robovac comes in.

My housemates and I were more than happy to share the cleaning load with the eufy Robovac X10 Pro Omni – and boy, did it deliver.

The X10 Pro, $1699 from the eufy website, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman, takes the thought out of cleaning. Simply turn it on and let it do the rest.

Setting up the robovac was simple. You plug it in to charge and fill up the 3L clean water tank, which provides enough water to mop a 150sqm home two to three times, and it’s ready to go.

Dubbed affectionately as “Vac Efron” in my household, the X10 Pro made a noticeable difference to our cleaning routine, as vacuuming was taken out of the rotation of shared tasks.

We simply turned it on while we were at work and came home to clean, shining floors each day.

The user-friendly eufy app meant we could see when the device was finished its task and heading home to its all-in-one docking station to self-empty, wash, refill, and charge.

Making efforts even easier, the X10 Pro can still clean on your command if your phone is unreachable.

Simply use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled cleaning.

Using the app, you have the option to create custom scenarios — such as a full home deep clean, daily clean, or post-meal clean — where you can choose the cleaning intensity, vacuum or mop functions, water level, and the area it cleans.

Navigating dining chairs is easy work for the X10 Pro Omni. Its advance obstacle avoidance helps it identify more than 100 different objects including wires, shoes, and toys, even at night. Fancy a quick vacuum of the dining table area after dinner? The X10 Pro has you covered.

Navigating several dining chairs and chunky table legs was no issue for the robovac as it made its way throughout my dining room.

Or simply select the smart mopping function and let the device recognise the floor plan of the room from its saved maps and detect what level of cleaning it deems appropriate for the surface.

Smart mode even adjusts when it identifies carpets and areas with pets during the cleaning process.

Pick your preferred type of clean and let the X10 Pro get to work.

Its powerful suction easily collected any dust and dirt that had settled overnight, even finding hidden debris in the carpet.

Watching it zip around the home was much more enjoyable than doing the vacuuming ourselves.

The auto-lifting mop pads raise 12mm to avoid carpeted surfaces, meaning it could swiftly switch between mopping my home’s hardwood floors and carpets throughout.

The X10 Pro’s mop pads are washed using clean water and then dried to prevent any bad smells or bacteria growth, making the process hassle-free.

Eufy’s point of difference involves its auto-detangling roller brush, which rotates in reverse with a detangling comb to loosen and remove any stuck hair so you don’t have to.

The vacuum dust bin is emptied into the station’s 2.5L dust bag, which only needs to be replaced every two months — yet another task you will hardly have to endure.

The X10 Pro’s mapping feature came in incredibly handy for the different floors of my home.

The feature allows you to save multiple different maps of your home, meaning we could move the device into our kitchen, which is located down a step, and it would recognise where it was and get to work.

We could also haul it upstairs, and it would detect the appropriate map to use for navigating the bedrooms.

Coming in at over $1000, the vacuum may be out of budget for some — but if you can afford it, this robovac and its handy features will take the hassle out of cleaning and free up some much-needed spare time.
