ALDI shopper left stunned over unbelievable find in pack of chips: ‘Shameful’

An ALDI shopper has been left speechless over an unbelievable discovery inside a packet of chips.

Sharing on a popular Facebook group, the mum said she made the find while enjoying a snack-sized pack of chips, which can be found in ALDI’s Sprinter Multi Pack boxes.

She posted a photo showing that the packet contained only a tiny amount of broken chips, leaving the majority of the packet empty.

“Just opened a packet of my kid’s school chips,” the shopper wrote on the Aldi Mums Facebook group.

The post sparked an intense reaction among other ALDI fans, with many saying they’d experienced the same issue.

One shared an image of a small pack that had around five corn chips inside, saying: “Nineteen grams, lucky it wasn’t 20g or I would be sooo full.”

Another said: “They are all like that — you should check out Doritos, they win hands down. Three chips lmao.”

One more wrote: “I bought a box of smith chips from Costco a month or so ago. There was one single chip in one of the salt and vinegar packets. Contacted Smith’s and they gave us a refund.”

Others said they’d stopped buying the mini packs due to the issue, and were now making their own.

“Yes! I don’t buy those rip-offs anymore because of this. I buy a large share packet and get them to fill a zip lock bag — better value for money. This is shameful!” said one.

Another added: “I refuse to buy the 20-pack bags or boxes anymore. I was spending between $20 to $40 a week on them (depending on brand).

“I now buy the large share packs (ALDI or on half price sale at Coles or Woolworths), weigh them out into small Telfresh or Sistema containers (again bought on half price sale).”

A third responded: “This happens often, I buy the big family size bags now and fill snack size snaplock bags for my children. A lot cheaper and they get more chips.”

One more added: “Cutting back everywhere and charging the same!”

Another said: “Absolute joke! We pay for packaging these days not the contents.”

ALDI customers who experience issues are encouraged to contact ALDI directly via the help centre, so it can investigate the allegation. Customers can return any product they are not satisfied with for a full refund or replacement.
