Several injured as truck and bus collide near intersection in Wetherill Park, Sydney

Several people have been injured when a truck and bus crashed at the intersection of a busy Sydney road.

The vehicles collided at the intersection of Liverpool-Parramatta Transit Way and Davis Rd at Wetherill Park in Western Sydney just before 5pm on Friday.

NSW Ambulance said three crews of paramedics were treating and assessing patients from both vehicles.

One male passenger suffered serious injuries to his leg and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Three other male passengers and the truck driver suffered minor injuries, with one passenger and the driver taken to Fairfield Hospital, according to NSW Police.

The bus driver was uninjured.

The front of the truck was badly damaged, with the windscreen and roof of the driver’s cab crushed in, while the rear passenger door of the bus was smashed in.

Emergency services and traffic crews remain on site.

Traffic is impacted in both directions and motorists are advised to be cautious in the area.
