Man, 49, wanted for murder after stabbing at Brampton apartment: Cops

Police are on the hunt for a suspect after a man was fatally stabbed on Wednesday at an apartment complex in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police said officers responded to reports of an altercation between two men on Wednesday at a building in the Bovaird Dr.-Creditview Rd. area. The victim was fatally stabbed, police said, before the assailant allegedly fled the scene.

Police said this was not a random act as the victim, who has not been named, and the alleged attacker were known to each other.

Andrew Galea, 49, of no fixed address, is wanted for second-degree murder, police said.

“As this incident involved a weapon, members of the public who see Andrew should consider him armed; they are reminded to dial 911 immediately and not to approach,” a Peel police news release said.
