The father of NSW Premier Chris Minns is in an induced coma in hospital after suffering a “massive” heart attack at the weekend.
A spokesperson for the premier confirmed the news on Monday, saying Minns’ father, John, was rushed to St George Hospital in Sydney’s south following Sunday’s health episode.
“The family are by his side and are thankful for the care he’s getting from health workers and doctors,” they said.

Minns has referenced his father in several speeches, highlighting John’s 45-year career as a teacher.
“For people like my Dad, teaching was more than just a job, it was a vocation,” he said previously.
During a speech last year, the premier said: “I had the honour of watching my dad build a successful life for himself and a loving home for our family during a 40-year career as a NSW public school teacher.”
