A 29-year-old man was arrested at a property in Fifield, about 100km away from the crime scene, and has been taken to Parkes Police Station.

He has spent the day assisting police with inquiries and was later charged with murder and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO.

He was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court on Tuesday.

Detective Inspector Jason Darcy said Ticehurst and the accused were known to each other.

“We can confirm there was a form of domestic relationship,” he said.

“But investigations are still ongoing and that will be addressed.”

Darcy added one line of inquiry that police are investigating is that the man attended Ticehurst’s workplace last week before he was moved on.

Meanwhile, Ticehurst has been remembered as a devoted childcare worker and mother to a six-year-old boy.

Police confirmed the boy is safe.

Friends have told 7NEWS she was a gorgeous soul, who would always have a laugh.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the death has commenced.

Forensics are combing through the home for evidence.
