Final Fantasy 16 Rising Tide DLC
It’s a massive few days for Final Fantasy fans, as Square Enix gets ready to release a new expansion for FF16. Available exclusively for PS5, the Final Fantasy 16 Rising Tide DLC has an April 18 release date and a midnight BST launch time. The expansion revolves around iconic Final Fantasy creature Leviathan, who is described as the long lost Eikon of Water. After receiving a mysterious letter in the hideout, players will need to rescue the Dominant of Leviathan from the hidden land of Mysidia. The land of Mysidia is said to have something of a tragic past, despite its picturesque vistas and bright blue skies. Players will be able to access the mission after unlocking Origin as a destination on the world map and completing the “Priceless” quest. It’s also worth noting that according to the PlayStation Store page, you’ll need to manually download the expansion, which won’t download automatically.
If you want to play the new Rising Tide DLC then you’ll need to purchase the Final Fantasy 16 expansion pass.
The expansion pass is available for £19.99 from the PlayStation Store. It contains the Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen.
To coincide with the release of the new expansion, Square Enix has also released a new update for FF16.
Final Fantasy 16 update 1.31 makes a number of improvements to the Photo mode, while also balancing the game and fixing various bugs.
The Photo mode adds adjustable depth of field settings, portrait mode and a selection of screen effects.
Elsewhere, Orchestrion rolls have been added to regional shops, although Rolls available depend on your progress in the main game.
