AUGUSTA, Ga. — A day after Greg Norman was spotted at the Masters, his son Greg Jr. confirmed reports that the LIV Golf boss bought a scalped ticket and walked in the famous gates as a patron.
“Yes. All this is true,” Norman Jr. posted on X. “My dad paid for a ticket on the secondary market to attend the Masters as a patron. He was denied one directly after going through the proper professional channels.”

Norman was spotted by fans, media and photographers on Wednesday, as the 69-year-old made his way around Augusta National ostensibly to support the 13 LIV golfers in the field, stopping for a chat with rising star and fellow Aussie Min Woo Lee.
According to his son, Norman was well-received by patrons and that any accusations that the Shark is a piranha in pro golf circles is unfounded.
“It was an amazing experience; hundreds of golf fans approached him walking outside the ropes .., All positive support of him and LIV. Not one person said anything negative to him.”
On Thursday morning, golf legends Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player called for unity in the pro golf world during remarks to media following the ceremonial tee shots that kicked off the 2024 Masters Tournament.
