After a banner awards season, Billie Eilish and brother Finneas have revealed new music is on the way.
Eilish made the announcement in a post to Instagram on Monday morning.
“‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ MY THIRD ALBUMMMMMMMMMMMMM COMES OUT MAY 17THHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHH,” she wrote in the caption alongside a photo of the singer shown plunged underwater, barefoot, underneath a white door.
We can assume this is the album’s cover.
The “What Was I Made For” singer said she’s both “nervyyyyy and exciteddd” about the new project.
She also revealed fans will have to wait a little over a month to hear anything off the album because she’s not releasing any singles.
“Not doing singles I wanna give it to you all at once,” she continued. “Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it.”
The announcement comes a day after the singer posted a video to the social media platform teasing something was coming.
“Ready?” she wrote in the caption as the video shows Eilish struggling underwater until a hand reaches out to help her.
“Love you love you love you,” she ended her note saying.
“Hit Me Hard and Soft” comes after 2021’s “Happier Than Ever.”
In 2019, she released her debut studio album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” which netted her numerous awards at the 2020 Grammy Awards, including Best Album.
